Users input data and the computer where it is processed into useable information that can be accessed to anser questions or meet specific needs

Input: data is entered

Processing: Something happens to data

Output: result of processing

Storage: data stored for future use

A

Physical components of computer and external components

Internal: CPU, Memory, Hard Drive ect

External: Monitor, Mouse, printer, keyboard, and the case containing internal components

Networks also have hardware such as cabels and wiring

Systems software includes the operating system and all the utilities that enabl the computer to function

Application software includes programs that do real work for users (word processors, spreadsheets, database management systems, ect)
