Module 4 Flashcards
Competition
The presence of other organisms may limit the distribution of some specified through interspecific competition
Predation
When predator kills and feeds on prey
Symbiosis
Mutualism- beneficial for both organisms ex. Anemone and clown fish
Commensalism- benefiting one organism while not affecting the other
Paratismism- benefits one organism while harming the other ex. Head lice and human
Amensalism- harms one organism with no benefit to the other ex. Harms plants but not affect water birds
Autotrophs
Heterotrophs
Auto makes own food, producer
Herero consumes specific types of food from a particular environment, consumer
Détritivores
Feed in non living organic maternal ohaycially break down organic material into smaller pieces.
Ex. Earth warm, hermit crab
Décomposées
Break down and then consumer non living organic material. Ex. Bacterium, fungus
Abiotic factors
Temperature Oxygen availability Water availability Light intensity Buoyancy Pressure
Bitoic factors
Availability of food
Competition for territory
Number of predator
Ability to find mate
