The great schism
1054 led to the separation between the Roman and Greek beaches of Christianity. They were already distant but they drifted apart more political,economic cultural and social factors.

European reformation
The church grew in power in the Western Europe and gained control of large parts of Rome. The popes spiritual authority diminished. Martin Luther in 1517 showed his concerns for a number of believes and teachings.
English reformation
King Henry Viti of England declared himself head of the English church in 1534. This created conflict and resign witching society influenced how England developed. Still impacts England today.
Disputes in Church
Disputes were resolved by councils, through discussion and prayer they sought guidance from Jesus and the holy sprirt.
Division of churches in the west
Church and state mission nearly identical. People were t happy that they should have alliance to the pope. During time people felt that the pope become more of a temporal leader then spiritual leader
Divisions and Denominations
When religions spilt into grouping because reasons such as different beliefs or practise of faith. In Christianity there are denominations such as orthodox, Catholic and Protestant
Catholicism and protestant division
Divided in the 16th century reformation. Martin Luther, John Calvin and Henry the 8th. Split because of the bible, office and authority of the pope, what happens after death,
