Proficiency Barrier
Inability to move from the fundamental Pattern period due to lack of proficiency in locomotor, manipulative or stability skills
intralimb
coordination between the upper and lower limbs during walking
interlimb
coordination between the right and left leg during a gallop
Asymmetric interlimb gait
gallop, hop (later emerging gaits), slide
Ontogenetic
-Influenced by environment
-These need to be learned
Ex: how to throw (properly), gallop, skip, etc
Polygenetic

-Unaffected by the environment
-Growth and maturation lead to these skills (body gets longer, stronger, etc)
Ex: rolling over, sitting up, standing, balancing, walking, etc
