Module 4 Flashcards
Plasma proteins
Plays role in blood clotting and regulation of fluid volume
Red bone marrow
In end of long bones and flat irregular bones
Iron
Mineral in heme that’s crucial for hemoglobin synthesis and is in healthy diet
Erythropoietin
Secreted by kidney to stimulate red bone marrow to create ethyrocytes
Hematopoietic tissue
Found in Red bone marrow and lymphatic tissue
Capillaries
- Blood vessels that connects two sides of vascular system
- branch off arterioles to make network of capillaries
Conducting arteries
Blood vessel with greatest ability to expand/ handle blood surges
Arterial system
Conducting artery-distributing artery- arterioles- capillaries
Venous system
Capillaries- Venules- medium sized veins- large veins
Pulmonary veins
Blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood to left atrium
Cardiac output
Tachycardia would decrease output because of filling time
Automaticity
Hearts ability to initiate electrical impulses
Cardiac impulse
Sa Node- AV node- bundle of His- purkinje fibers
Blood through heart and lungs
Right atrium gets blood and sends to right ventricle
Pulmonary arteries push blood to lungs
Blood goes through pulmonary veins to left atrium to heart
Bloods goes to left ventricle
Lymphatic system functions
Fluid balance
