Dissociative Amnesia

A

-To qualify as a DA, memory loss must be a

-Some type of personal or natural disaster

An extended form of DA
characterized by loss of identity and travel to a new location
-May be a few hours, or a
few years
-May develop a new identity,
new friends, new job
-It is an unconscious
response to extreme stress

-Subpersonalities can differ in age, sex, and perception of physical characteristics
-Some are aware of each other, others are not
-Very rare
