3 major Classification of Road traffic signs
Regulatory Signs
Warning Signs
Guide/ Informative Signs
Signs that inform road users of traffic laws and regulations as it indicates the application of legal or statutory requirements. Disregarding these signs may constitute road user to an offense.
Regulatory Signs
Are used to warn road users to the potential hazard along, or adjacent to the road.
Warning Signs
Are used to inform road users about the direction and distances of the route that they are following.

No entry for vehicle with gross axle load of more than 2 tons.

No entry for vehicles with more than 3.5 m in height.

Signs inatalled before intersection or junctions.
Intersection Signs
Used to indicate signalized intersection and to warn the presence of STOP and GIVEWAY signs.
Advance Warning / Traffic Control Device Signs
Driver must not park or stop within 6m of this sign as ut reduces visibility for other drivers.
Traffic Lights Ahead
Vehicles mus stop at the designated stop line or drive with caution.

Fingerboard Direction Signs
Provide the names of roads and street that riad users are passing and entering

Signs that convey the general information of interest such as geographical locations, boundariea and features

These signs are essential for the driver to have an afvanced information to ensure that they can position their vehicles in the correct lane.
Signs on Expressway
These signs instruct the motorist to follow a direction or to obey a course of action.
Traffic Instruction Sign
These are used to emphasize to the approaching driver a marked change in the direction of travel and the presence of an obstruction
Hazard Markers
Hazard markers Indicate to the approachung driver the only durection allowed at the end of the road.
One-Way Hazard Markers
Guides the drivers through a change in horizontal alignment of the road.
Chevron Signs
Hazard markers that warn the drivers ahead that the road ahead is about to change direction.
Two-Way Hazard Marker
Refers to the application of lines, symbols, and markings on the surface of roads, highways, and parking lots to provide guidanxe and direction to drivers.
Pavement Markings
Crossing of solid white lines requires soecial care and is discouraged
Center or Separation Line
Changing of line is allowed provided that it is safe and will not result to obstruction
Lane Line
No overtaking
No crossing
Double Solid Yellow Lines
Crossing is allowed
No overtaking
Single Solid Yellow Line
No overtaking but crossing is allowed on the side of the solid yellow line.
Overtaking and crossing is allowedon the side of white broken lines
Single Yellow Line with Broken White Lines
Crossing and overtaking is allowed with necessary precaution

But overtaking is not allowed on the side of the solid line
Broken and Solid Yellow Line
Used to separate the outside edge of the road from the shoulder
Edge Line
Continuity line on the left side means the lane is ending or exiting and that the druver must change lanes if the druver wants to continue in the cutrebt direction.
Continuity Line
Guide the traffic safely to pass obstructions on riadways such as island, median strips, bridge piers.
