Antihypertensives for Preeclampsia

- Loss of preg before 20 weeks gestation
Placenta Previa
Where the placenta implants in lower uterine segment near cervical os
- Total is concern!
Abruptio Placenta
Emergency!
- Full premature detachment
- Painful bleeding
- Dark red bleeding
Placenta Previa Symptoms
- Painless vaginal bleeding after 24 weeks
- 70% bleeding during pregnancy
- Bright red bleeding
- Life threatening
- NO vaginal exam
- Evaluate with ultrasound
Placenta Previa Comp
- Hemmorrhage
- pre term birth
Ectopic Preg
Preg outside uterine cavity
- Fallopian tube most common
- Care: Oxygen via face mask 10l/min
- Large bore IV
- Methotrexate ( No folic acid w med ) only give if unruptured!
Hyatidiform Mole
- Abnormal development of trophoblast
- HCG
- Faster uterine growth
- Dark, red or brown bleeding
Group B Strep Treatment
- Penicillin during labor, infuse q 4H
Hyperemesis Gravidarum
- Severe N/V
- Ketones in Urine *
HELLP Syndrome
H: Hemolysis
EL: Elevated liver enzymes
LP: Low platlets
