teaming
Inclusive co-teaching model in which one teacher provides the lead instruction while the other teacher circulates to provide accommodations, modifications, and extra instruction for individual students

health care professional who (a) works with individuals who have physical disabilities and (b) has expertise in evaluating, planning, and intervening in posture and balance, prevention of bodily malformations, and improving gross motor functioning, including ambulation
Physical therapist
Therapist who possesses knowledge and skills similar to the physical therapist, but has an orientation toward purposeful activities or tasks that have meaning for the individual
assistance in using fine motor skills to complete daily living activities
Occupational therapist
Specialist who provides expertise in communication skills which can include improving verbal language and developing and applying language skills to satisfy environmental needs
Speech language pathologist
Professional who is (1) trained in both psychology and education; (2) a uniquely qualified member of a school team and supports students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach and (3) applies expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
School psychologist
Each professional works separately and in isolation with each student to conduct assessments, plan intervention, and implements the program using pull-out services
Multidisciplinary team model
Similar to the multidisciplinary team, but with more emphasis on coordination and confirmation that services are appropriately provided to students with IEPs
Interdisciplinary team model
Implies coordinated services across disciplines, assessments conducted by specialists in natural settings, with services provided to students in classrooms and natural settings
Transdisciplinary team model
Combines the best features of the previous 3 models but with an additional emphasis on bringing various perspectives to the table and working closely
