what is the purpose of Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice ?
The purpose is to define the scope and depth of nursing practice in the community and establish expectations for acceptable, sage, and ethical nursing care
What is the community nursing continuum of care
health promotion, protection and prevention of illness, to treatment, restorative and palliative care
The goal of public health nursing is to
increase the health of the community by preventing disease and promoting healthy behaviours/environments
o Aims – Focus on promoting, protecting, and preserving the health of the populations.
Home health nursing is aimed at
assisting individuals with health problems to remain in their home, school or workplace
o HHN includes chronic disease management, palliative care, rehabilitation, support and maintenance, and support for the family so that the client can continue to live in the community
what is a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (PHCNP)
a RN with advanced university training whose practice functions include ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests and prescribing pharmaceuticals
