A
community public health nursing (or community oriented nursing) - focused on community as a whole, and health promotion and disease prevention.
community-based visit nursing - focus on illness care; take care of individuals and families, take care of both acute and chronic illness

Describe the health promotion strategies (5) identified in the Ottawa Charter
A
Acknowledges that we can’t look at individual health without looking at social and economic determinants, peace, education, housing, etc. that influence health. (determinants of health)
- Build healthy public policy – ex. legislation, taxation, how country, community, healthcare is organized. Aim = make healthier choice make the easiest choice
- Create supportive environments for health – ex. Home, work, social services,
- Strengthen community action for health – empowering communities
- Develop personal skills – providing information, education, enhancing life skill. Giving ppl their own control over their life = good health. Facilitated in schools, home, work, communities
- Re-orient (re-focus) health services – responsibility for health promotion in health services to be shared among individuals, community groups, health professions, government, health service institutions
