Chronic condition
-non-communicable that are prolonged in duration, do not resolve spontaneously, and are rarely cured completely
Secondary conditions
-health conditions that are generally preventable and are casually linked to disabling condition
-paralysis that causes ulcers etc
Co-morbid condition
-additional condition co-occuring with primary condition
-person with diabetes who also has depression etc
Chronic disease risk factors
-genetics
-age
-low education
-environmental factors
-poverty
-poor lifestyle
ICF
-used in clinical settings to differentiate population and what conditions someone experiences in order to organize funding, supports etc
-still very rooted in medical model
