define Corporate Compliance and what kinds of things get reported to them

A Universal (standard) precautions
1 When dealing with all patients at all times and with any moist body
substances (blood, secretions, sweat, urine …) universal precautions shall
be followed (this includes handling of soiled linen & dirty sharps).
2 Gloves will be worn before you touch or handle body fluid, and a gown,
goggles and mask will be worn if body fluid could be splashed.
3 Eating & drinking in areas where blood and specimens are handled is
prohibited
4 Body substances, needles & sharps and soiled linen are all considered
contaminated (bioharzardous).
5 Nosicomial now called healthcare associated infection is an infection a
patient receives AFTER they have been admitted to the hospital

Many things put you at risk of being exposed to blood pathogens such as taking shortcuts,
giving IVs, using needles, transporting lab specimens, performing surgery, suctioning a patient,

(such as how to store it or what to do if it spills) on a product that is considered
hazardous
define RACE
R = rescue (anyone in immediate danger)
A = activate (call security & pull alarm)
C = contain (close all windows & doors)
E = extinguish & evacuate
