What is nursing theory?
it is a system of concepts and practices put in place to inform meaningful actions in the nursing field such as how to treat patients, how to communicate with both the patient and their families etc
What is the purpose of conceptual framework?
helps nurses organize their thoughts and to identify key concepts
What is the McGill model?
Approached patient health by promoting changes in lifestyle
What does the McGill model focus on?
It focuses on health rather than the illness, focuses on all family members rather than the patient alone and it focuses on family goals rather than the nurses.

What is the Interactionist theory?
Focuses on the relationship between the client and the patient
What is Simulataneity Theory?
both the nurse and the patient are working together at the same time to achieve better health
What is the 11 derterninats of Health?
Income and social status, social support network, education and literacy, employment and working conditions, social environment, physical environment, personal health practices and coping skills, healthy child development, biology and genetcis and health sevices, and gender
What is the purpose of the 11 determinants?
they are different things that affect how healthy people are
What is the nursing process?
it is how the nurse will provide care for the patient and it also involves setting goals for the patients and making sure their needs are met

What is assessment?
The nurse collects information about the patients health
What is Diagnosis?
This is when the nurse has gathered the information about the patients and they analyze it to figure out whats going on with the patient
What is planning?
it is based on the diagnosis and the nurse creates a plan so the patient can become better
What is implentation?
when the nurse puts the plan into action
