What is safety in nursing?
Human errors and factors consciously avoiding acts of omission (failing to do the right thing) and acts of commission and (committing an error when giving care), standards of protocol and practice.
What are the five principles of safety culture?
Providing leadership, respecting human limits in the design process, promoting effective team functioning, anticipated the unexpected, and creating a learning environment.
What are the five characteristics to a high reliability organization?
Sensitivity to operations, reluctance to simplify, preoccupation with failure, deference to expertise, and resilience.
What is leadership?

What is formal management position?
Controlling, organizing, budgeting, enforcing and establishing rules, taking corrective actions, hierarchical position with subordinates.
What is bedside manager?
Managing care transitions, participating on inter and intra professional teams, identifying system issues, developing working skills in delegation, and proposition and overseeing patient care.
What are the three leadership styles/behavioral theories?
Autocratic (authoritarian), democratic (participative), and laissez-faire styles (allowing).
