Asepsis
being free of pathological organisms and the process of destroying or removing organisms to prevent transmission of infection
Antisepsis
the prevention of sepsis by preventing or inhibiting growth of causative microorganisms
Sterile
free from living microorganisms; sterile solutions because bacteria, fungi & spores have been removed

trans-abdominal puncture of the amniotic sac under ultrasound guidance using a needle and syringe in order to remove amniotic fluid
