What is energy efficiency?
Using less energy to provide a service or providing more service for the same amount of energy input.
What is resource efficiency?
Using less to provide more. Use of recycled or recyclable materials, and reduced amounts of waste materials.
What are some examples of resource efficiency?
Cellulose insulation (made of 70% old newspaper) Fingerjointed pine trim Oriented strang board Manufactured cladding (all3 made from small pieces of wood, shaving and scrap) Engineered beams (use of small pieces of wood)
What is environmental responsibility?
Includes energy and resources efficiency such as reducing water usage, recycling
