Model Analysisi Flashcards
It aims to predict the size of the unerupted permanent dental organs and whether they will have space in the bone arch
Analysis for the mixed dentition
The upper and lower first permanent molars and the upper and lower permanent incisor must be _______
Present
Analysis created by doctors Lyle Johnston and Marvin Tanaka
Tanaka and Johnson analysis
T&J analysis
In this analysis the mesiodistal width of the upper and lower canines, first and second premolars is determined from the:
Mesiodistal widths of the lower incisors
Realiability of T&J analysis
75%
5 steps T&J analysis
- Mesiodistal width of the four lower incisors is measured
- Mesiodistal width of the four lower incisors is added and divided into two
- Prediction of the mesiodistal width of the canine, first premolar and second premolar, 10.5 are added to the result of the division of the mesiodistal width of the incisors
- Predilection of the mesiodistal width of the canine, first and second upper premolars, 11mm are added to the result obtained from the division of the mesiodistal width of the lower incisiors
- Once the maxillary and mandibular predictions have been obtained it is known what is the space required to adjust the canine and premolars within the arch.
If the available space is greater than the required space there will be…
Enough space to place the canine and premolars within the arch.
If the available space is less than required there will ..
not be enough space for its location within the arch
