Mod 9 Vocab Flashcards
One (single) point injection
Injection and drainage from one location.
Split injection
Injection from one site and drainage from a separate site.
Multipoint injection
Vascular injection that utilizes two or more injection sites.
Restricted cervical
Method of injection wherein both common carotid arteries are raised.
Instant tissue fixation
Embalming technique that uses a very strong arterial solution (often waterless). The solution is injected under high pressure in spurts into a body area. Very little solution is injected; the technique attempts to limit swelling.
Alternate drainage
Method of injection-drainage in which embalming solution is injected and then injection is stopped while drainage is open.
Concurrent drainage
Method of drainage in which drainage occurs continuously during vascular injection.
Intermittent drainage
Method of drainage in which the drainage is stopped at intervals while the injection continues.
