Mechanism of action of contraceptive pill?
A
Synthetic estrogen inhibits FSH release by negative feedback, surpassing follicular development
Synthetic progesterone like compounds (progestins) block oestrogen-mediated positive feedback surge in LH release- prevents ovulation & changes properties of cervical mucous so that its hostile to sperm.
Endometrial development is scant & not favourable for implantation
