Occupational task:

A

Patient: laying supine w/ arms overhead, tuck chin to sternum (not straight up)

therapist: apply downward resistance to forehead, stabilize at shoulder

all MMT grades are 5,4,3

prime movers: longus capitis and longus colli, sternocleidomastoid, anterior scalene, rectus capitis

occupational task:

A

Patient: prone w/ arms overhead, extend head back and turn face to side

therapist: apply downward pressure to head, stabilize thoracic region

prime movers: rectus capitis, splenius capitis and cervicis, erector spinae, semispinalis capitis and cervicis, obliquus capitis

wash hair in shower

A

patient: supine, legs supported under knees with pillow for slight knee flexion, “crunch” motion with hands behind head (5), arms crossed over chest (4), arms extended above stomach towards feet
therapist: n/a

prime movers: rectus abdominis with assistance from internal/external obliques

bending to tie shoe

Patient: prone w/pillows under abdomen, hands behind head and brings chest off of table (5), hands on lower back (4), hands on lower back and comes very little off table (3)

A

Patient: side-lying on non-test side, one arm on opposite shoulder, other resting on side

therapist: stabilize at hips, no resistance
grades: 5(zoey smiling), 4(zoey looking down), 3 (zoey furrows forehead) based on how far they come up

prime movers: external/internal obliques, rectus abdominis, quadratus lumborum
