When they can be said in 1 or 2 words.

When do you write out percentages and amounts of money?
If it can be said in 3 words or less.
Ex: five dollars
What do you capitalize in the titles of research papers?
1st and last letters, and all important words
If the quote is longer then what is on the research paper what do you do?
Use 3 periods with a space before, in between ad after every period.
Ex: . . . Not: …
What do you do for names of complete works?
Italicize!
What do you use for shorter works within complete works?
Use “quotation marks”!
What happens if a quote is longer then 4 lines long?
Put it into quotation marks and incorporate it into the text.
When using a parenthetical reference, where is the period placed?
All the way at the end.
Ex: “quote”(60).
How do you punctuate quotes that end in !! ?
“Quote!” (59).
What should the margin on both sides of the paper be?
One inch
How much do you indent the 1st word in a paragraph?
1/2 inch (or tab button)
What font and size does MLA recommend?
Times Nee Roman, size 12
