Q

What is a solid? How are they formed & shaped?

A

Solids are usually in a very tight and fixed position meaning that they are holding onto eachother very strongly not letting eachother go. A real life example of this would be sending a whole year group of students into only 1 room which would not give them a lot of space to move around at most they would be standing still in one position not moving.

Q

What is a liquid? How are they formed & shaped?

A

Liquids are still tight around eachother but not as close as solids. They can still move around eachother however not as much as gases.

Q

What is a gas? How are they formed & shaped?

A

Gases however are completely different to solids and liquids. They is usually one or two particles in a certain space which are very spaced out and are free to move.

Q

What is a change of state?

A

A change of state usually happens between the three particles is when the temperature is changed in the room which will change the state in general. This is a physical change which means a new substance is made.

Q

What is a melting point?

A

At the melting point, melting and freezing can take place. This action takes place when a substance is getting heated up. The particles in the solid start to move around, but are still close together which makes the substance become a liquid.
