What is a mixiote?
A
Traditionally it is a barbecued meat with peppers and spices then wrapped in small packages made of the tough semi-transparent outer skin of the leaves of the maguey.
Ours will be steamed in a heat resistant bag that resembles plastic wrap; to be opened at the table, releasing the aromas.
