Mixed Method Study Designs Flashcards
1
Q
Convergent (triangulation).
A
The qualitative and quantative arms of the study are run concurrently but separately. The results are “converged” usually during analysis and interpretation.
2
Q
Sequential.
A
First conducts the qualitative and then quantative (or vice versa). Results are often reported separately.
3
Q
Multiphase (or multilevel).
A
May use different study designs to answer the same question in a population that has inherently different sizes.
4
Q
Embedded.
A
Used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods throughout their study.
-open-ended questions.
5
Q
Quantising.
A
The process of transforming qualitative data into quantitative data.
