A

Accomplished Riesling: 100% Riesling only. Wines must score a 3 out of 5 on a blind tasting to show typicity.

Interaction of the Elements: Wines must show their typicity through the interplay of the four natural elements (fire, air, water and earth) and the traditional methods of production.

Natural Rhein Wines: Grapes must hand-harvested, wines may not be subject to adulteration such as concentration, fractionating or flavoring.

Exclusive Growing Area: Grapes must be sourced from within the Mittlerhein anbaugebiet.

Producers Bottling: Producers must be located and bottle wines in the Mittelrhein.

Profile Wines with Heart: Producers bottle their wines under 1 of 3 quality designations (above) based on their preference.

World Heritage Preserve: A fixed portion of producers’ revenues are deposited into a Charter Fund to preserve and protect the unique cultural landscape of Mittelrhein viticulture and wine making.
