What is anaphase
A
Stage 3: the centromeres split and each chromatid becomes a new chromosome. The new chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell. The cell stretches out as the opposite ends are pushed apart.

What is metaphase?
A
Stage 2: the chromosomes line up across the center of the cell each one attached to a spindle fiber at its centromere.

What is telophase?
A
Stage 4: the chromosomes stretch out and and lose their rod like appearance. A new nuclear envelope forms around each region of chromosomes. The DNA is once again separated by a membrane from the cytoplasm.
