What happens during Prophase?

A

Condensation of chromatin to chromosomes, chromatids are joined at centromere, nuclear envelope breaks down, spindle fibres form between poles.

What happens during Metaphase?

A

Centromere of chromosomes attaches to spindle fibres lining up, chromosomes are mostly visible now.

What happens during Anaphase?

A

Splitting of sister chromatids at centromere, single chromatids move towards opposite poles.

What happens during Telophase?

A

End of mitotic phase, chromosomes form clusters at each pole, become less visible, nuclear envelope forms, spindle disappears and disassembles.
