Mitosis Flashcards
Mitosis
Cell cycle is continous and occurs to grow, regenerate or repair themselves
One of the specific stages of the cucles where cells preapre to divide
In order for success, cells must eventually split thier genetic material or DNA between each cell
Sematic Cell
Where Mitosis only occurs. meaning all cell except sex cells
Chromosome
Condence strands of DNS
They are divided into two sisters chromatids held together by their centromere
Phase of Mitosis
Prophase
Metaphase
Anaphase
Telophase
Metaphase
Microtubles attached of the centromeres causing to line the equator cell
Prophase
Cell membrane dissoves and the chromosomes start to condense
Microtubles extending from centrioles on both sides of the cell also begin to form
Microtubles along centromere form spindles apparatus that help put in place
Telophase
Chromosomes relax
Spindle apparatus disassembles
Nuclear membrane reforms in each cell
Lastly, plasma membrane develops a deeper durrow and will end up divind cell down the middle
Anaphase
Pulled apart into their sister chromatids and move opposite end of the cell
Plasma membrane also starts to indent to preparte for the actual divison
Cytokinesis
The process where the cell divides itself in two
