A
- MO entered US as slave state bc Missouri Compromise Line
- one of the main premises was legislative power
- bicameral system
- could do lots of other legislative things (select state treasurer, etc.)
- governor was elected by the people & justices were appointed to serve during good behavior

Convention of 1845
A
Jacksonian amendments returned power to the people (now judges and statewide officials elected by popular vote)
- # of governments
- type of local governments
- initiatives (anyone can add) and referendums (anyone can remove)
- -2/3 congressional districts, 8% for amendment, 5% for law
