If one active pill is missed, what additional precautions are needed?

No additional precautions. Take the missed pill at same time a current pill.

If two or more active pills are missed, what additional precautions are needed?

Answer 3

If more than 7 active pills left in pack, continue pack as usual, use condoms for 7 days. Take the missed pill at same time as current pill.
If less than 7 active pills left in pack, then skip sugar pills and use condoms for 7 days.

When is emergency contraception recommended in a patient who missed a COCP pill?

Answer 4

If within first 7 days of new pack of pills, and more than 48 hours late ie missed 2 pills, and had unprotected sex in last 7 days, then need emergency contraception.
