Class A - Mishaps
The cost of reportable property damage is $2,000,000 or greater
Class A - Mishaps

A Coast Guard boat has repairable damage of $100,000 or more
Class B - Mishaps
An injury or occupational illness requires treatment by a medical professional and results in, for any time beyond the day or shift in which it occurred:
- Loss of time from work;
- Placement on a limited duty or restricted duty status;
- Removal from flight status, and/or;
- Transfer of any individual(s) to a different job
Class C - Mishaps
The resulting cost of reportable property damage, or damage to cutters and aircraft (including UAS), is $50,000 or more, but less than $500,000
Class C - Mishaps
Coast Guard boat that incur repairable damage of $50,000 or more, but less than $100,000.
Class C - Mishaps
A work-related injury or illness requires more than simple first aid treatment but does not meet the criteria of a Class C mishap.
- Non-aviation property damage of $5,000 or more but less than $50,000.
- Aviation property damage (including UAS) less than $50,000.
- Near misses (High Potential for Loss).
