Q

Canine disease seen in acute bacteremic phase of infection
Coincides with seasonal emergence of tick vectors
vague signs of illness: fever, lethargy, anorexia, muscle pain, reluctance to move
Lyme like lameness, joint pain, inflammatory polyarthritis
Meningitis, pneumonitis, gastrointestinal signs
May become a persistent infection

6
Q

Acute phase causes mild nonspecific signs (fever, weight loss, anorexia)
Thrombocytopenia (ding ding) with or without anemia, leukopenia
titers may be negative
Chronic phase will have a reappearance of the acute phase signs which will be mild to severe depending on age, breed and strain
This effects canines
