Q

TH GAL 4 UAS

A

TH stands for tyrosine hydroxylase, when the gene to produce the TH enzyme is transcribed the GAL 4 gene is also transcribed and produces the GAL 4 protein

On a different segment of the chromosome, the GAL 4 protein binds to UAS (upstream activating sequence) and promotes the transcription of a certain identifying gene like a GFP (green fluorescence protein)

Q

FRT

A

FLP acts on the FLP recombination target (FRT) located within two 599-base pair inverted repeats in the plasmid DNA and catalyzes recombination between the inverted repeats. This recombination event inverts, or ‘flips’, part of the plasmid with respect to the remainder, and this is essential for plasmid amplification.

DenMark

A

In molecular biology and genetics, “DenMark” likely refers to a specific molecular marker or tagging system. Molecular markers are used to label or identify genetic sequences, proteins, or other molecules of interest in research and diagnostics. These markers can be crucial for tracking genetic mutations, studying gene expression, or identifying specific genetic sequences in experiments.
