Misc notes Flashcards
What determines the amount of wiring in a conductor?
The amount of wiring in a conductor is determined by the size of the conductor and the thickness of the wiring.
What are the ranges that the average wire thickness goes ?
Wire thickness can be as low as 3/4” and as high as 4”
What are the common voltages for 1 phase and 3 phase power?
The common voltages are 120V and 208V respectively
How often on average will a low voltage system be assessed after it has been altered?
It can be at least 5 years before the low voltage system is assessed again.
What does it mean when a piece of equipment lists it’s pole’s
The poles determine the circuits that are being lead from the circuit breaker to the equipment and also express the amount of phases that equipment requires.
What is a branch circuit?
A branch circuit is a an circuit that originates from a circuit breaker and leads to a piece of material?
What is an AHU and what does it do?
An air handling unit is responsible for controlling every aspect of the
What are the second mose common voltages in NYC ?
277 and 480
When is a 4-pole disconnect switch used?
A 4 pole disconnect switch is used when their is a fear that the neutral could have a fault
Single phase power is able to provide how many volts and amps?
120V 15-20
2 phase power is able to provide how many volts and amps?
240V 20-60amps
