HMU

A

PM CAN VETO

  • Pumps fuel at high pressure
  • Meters fuel in response to PAS, LDS, DEC, and engine variables
  • Collective pitch compensation through the LDS. When collective is moved, Ng is reset for immediate Np response.
  • Accel/Decel fuel flow limiting prevents compressor stall and flameout
  • Ng Limiting.
  • Variable geometry positioning of the inlet guide vanes for optimum performance.
  • DEC lockout. PAS override control with DEC INOP. Pilot can bypass TQ motor inputs.
  • Torque motor to trim Ng output. Fine tune engine output. Override through Lockout.
  • Opens Vapor Vents for manual HMU priming, to remove air from HMU

Stabilator

A

SCALP

  • Streamlines with rotor downwash at low airspeeds (>30 kts) to min. nose up attitude
  • Collective coupling to minimize pitch attitude excursions from collective inputs, above 30 kts.
  • Angle of Incidence decreases above 30 kts. To improve static stability
  • Lateral sideslip to pitch coupling to reduce susceptibility to gusts. Stab up for right pedal, stab down for the left pedal.
  • Pitch rate feedback to improve dynamic stability. Dampen pitch excursions due to turbulence or G forces.

ODV

HOPS

  • Hot start protection (900 degrees)
  • Overspeed protection (Np). From DEC at 120% +/- 1%
  • Purges main fuel manifolds and allows back flow of high-pressure air for purging
  • Sends fuel through manifold to injectors for starting and operation
