MIs Flashcards
Loss of Braking
‘Loss of Braking, Anti-Skid off’
Think “Reverse, Brake, Parking Brake”
- REV…. PF…. MAX
- Brake Pedals…. PF…. Release
- Anti Skid OFF…. PF…. Order
- Anti-Skid & NWS…. PM…. OFF
- Brake Pedals…. PF…. Press
- Max Brake Pressure…. PF…. 1000PSI
If still no braking
7. Parking Brake…. PF…. Use
Emergency Descent
- Crew Oxygen Masks…. PF/PM… Use
- Signs…. PM…. ON
- Emer Descent…. PF…. Initiate
If A/THR not active: - Thrust Levers…. PF…. IDLE
- Speed Brake…. PF…. FULL
Stall Recovery
‘Stall, I have control’
Think - “Standard.. Stall.. Idle.. SB.. Recovery”
- Nose Down Pitch…. PF…. Apply
- Bank…. PF…. Wings Level
When out of stall (no longer stall indications) :
3. Thrust… PF…. As Req
4. Speed Brakes…. PF…. Check Retracted
5. Flight Path…. PF…. Recover Smoothly
If in clean configuration and below 20 000 ft :
6. Flap 1…. PF/PM…. Select
Note:
If a risk of ground contact exists, once clearly out of stall (no longer stall indications), establish smoothly a positive climb gradient.
Stall Warning at Lift Off
- Thrust…. PF…. TOGA
- Pitch Attitude…. PF…. 15°
- Bank…. PF…. Wings Level
Unreliable Speed Indication
If the safe conduct of the flight is impacted:
1. AP…. PF…. OFF
2. A/THR…. PF…. OFF
3. FD…. PF…. OFF
4. Pitch/Thrust…. PF…. Below THRUST RED ALT - 15° / TOGA
Above THRUST RED ALT and Below FL 100 - 10° / CLB
Above THRUST RED ALT and Above FL 100 - 5° / CLB
5. Flaps…. PF…. If CONF 0/1/2/3 - Maintain Current CONF
If CONF FULL - Select CONF3 and Maintain
6. Speedbrakes…. PF…. Check Retracted
7. Landing Gear…. PF…. UP
When Level and safe, go into tables to check configs and speeds.
EGPWS Cautions
“TERRAIN TERRAIN”
“TOO LOW TERRAIN”
“TERRAIN AHEAD”
“OBSTACLE AHEAD”
- During night or IMC:
1. AP…. OFF
2. Pitch…. Pull Up (Full Backstick)
3. Thrust Levers…. TOGA
4. Speedbrake…. Check Retracted
5. Bank…. Wings Level or Adjust
6. Config…. Maintain until clear of obstacle - During daylight and VMC, with terrain and obstacles clearly in sight:
1. Flight Path…. Adjust
“SINK RATE”
- Above 1 000 ft AAL in IMC or above 500 ft AAL in VMC:
1. Flight Path…. Adjust - Below 1 000 ft AAL in IMC or below 500 ft AAL in VMC:
1. Go-Around…. Consider
“DON’T SINK”
- Flight Path…. Adjust
“TOO LOW GEAR”
“TOO LOW FLAPS”
- Go-Around…. Perform
“GLIDE SLOPE”
- Above 1 000 ft AAL in IMC or above 500 ft AAL in VMC:
1. Flight Path…. Adjust - When conditions require a deliberate approach below glideslope:
1. G/S Mode…. OFF - Below 1 000 ft AAL in IMC or below 500 ft AAL in VMC:
1. Go-Around…. Consider
EGPWS Warning
“PULL UP” - “TERRAIN AHEAD PULL UP” - “OBSTACLE AHEAD PULL UP”
1. AP…. PF…. OFF
2. Pitch…. PF…. Pull Up (Pull to full backstick and maintain in that position)
3. Thrust Levers…. PF…. TOGA
4. Speedbrake lever…. PF…. Check Retracted
5. Bank…. PF…. Wings Level or Adjust if required
6. Config…. PF…. Maintain until clear of obstacles
TCAS RA
TCAS TA
‘I have control’
TCAS RA
‘TCAS RA, Remove FD’
1. AP…. PF…. OFF
2. Both FDs…. PM…. OFF
3. Attitude…. PF…. Green
4. Thurst…. PF…. As Req (Keep stable unless going to stall or need an increased rate)
‘Clear of Conflict’
Windshear - Reactive
Takeoff:
- If before V1
1. Rejection Take-Off
- If after V1:
1. Thrust Levers…. TOGA
2. Reaching VR…. Rotate
3. SRS Orders…. Follow
(If necessary, the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back) - Airborne - initial climb or landing:
1. Thrust Levers…. TOGA
2. AP…. Keep On (if engaged)
3. SRS Orders…. Follow
(If necessary, the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back)
4. Config…. Do not Change until out of Windshear - When out of Windshear, smoothly recover to normal Climb
Windshear - Predictive
“WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
- Before takeoff:
1. Delay takeoff, or select the most favorable runway. - During takeoff run:
1. Reject takeoff. - When airborne:
1. Thrust Levers…. PF…. TOGA
2. AP…. PF…. Keep On (if engaged)
3. SRS Orders…. PF…. Follow (If necessary, the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back)
4. Config…. PF…. Can be changed before entering windshear. - Landing
“GO AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
1. Go Around…. PF…. Perform
2. AP…. PF…. Keep On (if engaged)
Note:
The autopilot disengages, if the angle of attack value goes above alpha prot.
If the FD bars are not displayed, move toward an initial pitch attitude of 17.5 °. Then, if necessary to prevent a loss of altitude, increase the pitch attitude.
