Def
Where members of majority group change their beliefs or behaviour because of the minority influencing their decision
Consistency
If minority keep repeating the same beliefs to the majority both over time (diachronic synchrony) and between all individuals (synchronic consistency). The majority reassess the situation and consider the minority idea more carefully.
Commitment
Minority must show dedication and make personal sacrifices. Engage extreme activity to draw attention to their views. Risk in activity shows greater commitment and majority pay more attention. Augementation principle
Flexiblity
Members of minority need to be prepared to adapt their point of view and accept reasonable counter arguments
Remain consistent committed flexible
Listen to ideas and internalise them and move over to minority’s viewpoint. Starts slowly but builds momentum with more people moving over the minority view. Snowball effect
