Simile - This device is used to highlight the frightened nature of the servants in Jekyll’s house. In addition sheep can link to religion as Jesus was the lamb of god and belongs to him similar to the servants belonging to Jekyll. This links Jekyll to god and shows how he tried to play as him and was punished. Also shows the servants aren’t independent and are reliant on Jekyll.
