A

He is a respected scientist, pillar of society. His philantropy and warm attitude embodies this. Jekyll’s internal conflict and fascination with the duality of man lead to the creation of Hyde.

A

Id - primitive and instinctual part of the mind containing evil.
Ego - balance between id and superego
Superego - person’s moral conscience.

These come from a theory from Sigmund Freud.
