- Promised to help/protect if English weavers made life difficult
- Let them set up their own trade guild
- Let them live/work anywhere in England
- Banned sale of English raw wool - forced to come if they wanted a job

How were the Italians treated in the Medieval Period?
Positive - lent money to the King, helped fund armies and castles, became very wealthy and impacted the economy
What was passed in 1275 and what did it say?
Statute of Jewry - Jews couldn’t collect interest,
anyone who owed Jews money
did not have to pay it back,
Jews could only live in a few towns
What was the later treatment of the Jews like?
Negative - taxes raised even higher for Jews as Henry III believed they were his property leading to them losing their wealth and many businesses breaking down - blame placed on Jews
Distrusted and discriminated for religion
Many were jealous of Jews and reverted to violence against them
How were Flemish Weavers and Dutch seen as in English society?
Positively, well-integrated, very popular and having a positive impact
