The movement of people from one place to another.
Immigration
The flow of migrants coming into a nation.
Emigration
The flow of migrants going out of a nation.
Internal migration
Migrants moving within the frontiers of one nation.
International Migration
Migrants moving across national borders with one country to another.

The flow of domestic migrants into an area from somewhere within the national borders.
Out Migration
The flow of domestic migrants out of an area to somewhere within National border.
Origin
The place where migrants embark on their movement.
Migration Stream.
Migrant, sharing a common origin and destination.
Counter Stream
People returning home in the opposite direction to migration Stream.
Chain migration
If strong links between two locations are established then this will occur.
Relay migration
When different family members migrate to improve their financial position over time.
Stepped migration
Rural migrants, moving to small town initially before moving to larger urban areas.
Forced migration
Migration, due to little or no choice remain.
Voluntary migration.
Movement of an individual household with free choice to move or not.
