Spanish explorers/pirates that would sail for Spain and claim land and resources for them, at times conquering natives for their gold and other treasure.

a person of mixed race, especially one having Spanish and indigenous descent
Encomienda
The encomienda was a Spanish labor system that rewarded conquerors with the labor of conquered non-Christian peoples. The laborers, in theory, were provided with benefits by the conquerors for whom they labored, including military protection and education
Treaty of Tordesilla
the treaty between Spain and Portugal in which they both agreed to honor the Line of Demarcation

the idea that a country’s power mainly depended on its wealth
Triangle Trade
Over one trade route, Europeans transported manufactured goods to the west coast of Africa. There, traders exchanged these goods for captured Africans. The Africans were then transported across the Atlantic and sold in the West Indies. Merchants brought sugar, coffee, and tobacco in the West Indies and sailed to Europe with these products.

The voyage that brought captured Africans to the West Indies and later to North and South America
Dutch East India Company
the most successful East India Company, beat the English and French. Also the first. They had the power to sign treaties and take over trade routes, cared about economic stuff only so they were able to get into China and appeal to the customs, and picked off Portugal militarily. establish armies, coin money
Indentured Servitude
People would serve a ‘master’ for a certain amount of time and they were bound by a contract because the ‘master’ paid for them to come overseas, typically to the Americas. These people were not considered slaves but they also did not have many rights so their master could treat them however they wanted.
Columbian Exchange
Triangular trade is trade between three ports or regions. Triangular trade usually evolves when a region has export commodities that are not required in the region from which its major imports come. It has been used to offset trade imbalances between different regions.
King Philip’s War
It began in 1675 when the Native American ruler Metacom (also known as King Philip) led an attack on colonial villages throughout Massachusetts. In the months that followed, both sides massacred hundreds of victims. After a year of fierce fighting, the colonists were victorious.
