Stop breathing during sleep (no slow wave sleep), causes fatigue, depressions momentarily wakes throughout the night
Narcolepsy
Uncontrollable sleep attacks (overwhelming sleepiness, usually less than 5 minutes at a time)

NREM1/ light sleep
Transition, slowed breathing, and irregular brain waves, hypnagogic sensations (falling, floating), alpha waves
NREM2/ light sleep
20 minutes, sleep spindles, light sleep, can still be awakened
NREM3&4/ Deep/ delta sleep
30 minutes, slow wave sleep: large, slow delta waves, hard to wake,
REM/ Paradoxical sleep
Arousal twitches, 10 minutes, brain waves become rapid and saw-toothed, like nearly awake sleep, heart rate rises, breathing becomes rapid and irregular, eyes dart around, limbs paralyzed, dreaming
