3. Permissive : Few directives, manipulation. Outcome = Negative (immaturity, rebellion)

- Linked to negative adult outcomes (ex. violence tolerance)
- Parents most likely to use physical punishment if they : approve of it, experienced it themselves, are subject to depression or burdened by stress
