ADDUCTOR LONGUS
O: pubis
I: middle 1/3 of the medial lip of the linea aspera
N: obturator nerve
K: 1. adduction 2. flexion 3. anterior pelvic tilt
ADDUCTOR MAGNUS
O: inferior pubic ramus + ramus of ischium
AND ischial tuberosity
I: gluteal tuberosity, linea aspera & medial supracondylar line of femur
AND adductor tubercle of femur
N: (pubofemoral head) obturator nerve + (ischiocondylar head) sciatic nerve
K: 1. adduction 2. extension 3. flexion?? 4. posterior pelvic tilt
PSOAS MAJOR
O: bodies of T12-L5 & IVD between them, anterior TVP’s of L1-L5
I: lesser trochanter of the femur
N: lumbar plexus L1-L3
K: 1. flexion 2. lateral rotation 3. anterior OR posterior pelvis tilt (depends if RMA) 4. flexion of trunk 5. lateral flexion of trunk 6. contralateral rotation of trunk
TFL
O: ASIS & anterior iliac crest
I: ITB 1/3 of the way down
N: superior gluteal nerve
K: 1. internal rotation 2. flexion 3. abduction 5. anterior pelvic tilt
ILIACUS
O: upper 2/3s of iliac fossa, AIIS, and sacral ala
I: lesser trochanter of the femur (blends with psoas major)
N: femoral nerve
K: 1. flexion of thigh 2. lateral rotation of thigh 3. anterior pelvic tilt
GLUTEUS MEDIUS
O: just inferior to the iliac crest between the anterior and posterior gluteal lines
I: greater trochanter of the femur
N: superior gluteal nerve
K: everything at the hip except adduction
GLUTEUS MAXIMUS
O: posterior iliac crest, posterolateral sacrum, sacrotuberous ligament, thoracolumbar fascia
I: ITB & gluteal tuberosity
N: inferior gluteal nerve
K: 1. extension of thigh 2. lateral rotation. 3. abduction (upper 1/3) and adduction (lower 2/3) 4. posterior pelvic tilt
PIRIFORMIS
O: anterior sacrum & anterior surface of sacrotuberous ligament
I: greater trochanter of the femur
N: nerve to piriformis (L5, S1, S2)
K: 1. lateral rotation 2. medial rotation when flexed to >60* 3. horizontal abduction when thigh flexed

EAO
O: anterior iliac crest, pubic bone (crest & tubercle) & abdominal aponeurosis
I: inferior border of the lower 8 ribs
N: ventral rami of intercostal nerves T7-T12
K: 1. contralateral rotation 2. flexion 3. posterior pelvic tilt 4. lateral flexion
IAO
O: anterior iliac crest, lateral 2/3 of inguinal ligament, thoracolumbar fascia
I: lower 3 ribs & abdominal aponeurosis
N: ventral rami of intercostal nerves T7-L1
K: 1. ipsilateral rotation 2. flexion 3. lateral flexion 4. posterior pelvic tilt
BICEPS FEMORIS
O: ischial tuberosity & sacrotuberous ligament AND lateral supracondylar line of femur
I: head of fibula & lateral tibial condyle
N: sciatic nerve (tibial & common fibular)
K: 1. hip extension 2. knee flexion 3. lateral rotation at the knee 4. posterior pelvic tilt
SEMITENDINOSUS
O: ischial tuberosity
I: Pes Anserine tendon (anteromedial tibial condyle)
N: sciatic nerve
K: 1. hip extension 2. knee flexion 3. medial rotation at knee AND hip 4. posterior pelvic tilt
SEMIMEMBRANOSUS
O: ischial tuberosity
