What does the pretrajectory stage mean
Genetic factors or lifestyle behaviours that place an individual or community at risk for the developement of a chronic condition
what is the trajectory onset
appearance of noticeable symptoms: include period of diagnostic workup & announcement of diagnosis. May be accompanied by biographic limbo as person begins to discover & cape with implications of diagnosis
what is the stable stage
illness course & symptoms are under control. Biography & everyday life activities are being managed within limitations of illness & illness management is centered in the home
what is the unstable stage
period of inability to keep symptoms under control or reactivation of illness. Biographic disruption & difficulty carrying out everyday life activities. Ajustments made. Care still at home
what is the acute stage
severe & reliable symptoms or the developement of illness complication necessitating hospitalization or bed rest to bring illness back to stable.
what is the crisis stage
Critical or life threatening situation requiring emergency treatment or care. Biography & everyday life activities suspended until the crisis passes
what is the comeback stage
Gradual return to an acceptable way of life within limits imposed by disability illness.
Involves physical healing, stretching limitations through rehabilitative procedures, psychosocial coming to terms & biographic reengagement with adjustments in everyday life actives
