Q

Why does the assumption of separate spheres of work devalues women ?

A

Their labor is unpaid, easily manipulated, and exploited. This work often unpaid in families or when it is paid it is usually women workers hired for low wages to do domestic work. Gender is a core process that frames social reproduction since the sexual division of labor is present around the world and because of it women overwhelmingly remain the central caregivers of the young and elderly
