Why can we not provide an accurate dental estimate during a consult?
We can’t see disease under the gum line until patients are anesthetized/ can’t say how long extractions will take the Vet

What factors do we assess to determine if a pet has QOL?
-Are they Eating and drinking normally?
-Do they have normal stool and urine production?

-Are they experiencing joy?

What important considerations must we take when evaluating an animal for behavioral euthanasia?
-Is there a safety risk if this animal returns home?
-Is there a chance at rehabilitation? -Can this animal have good QOL in a shelter?
Why must we ask about Bite history when scheduling a euthansia?
To rule out potential rabies exposure especially in unvaccinated dogs
Why do we only vaccinate healthy animals?
If an animal is suffering from illness, their immune systems are heavily occupied with that. Vaccinating can stress their immune systems too much, causing them to become sicker
If an older pet is gaining weight, has a poor coat, is panting excessively and pu/pd, they could have what condition?

Why are in-house fecal floatation tests unreliable?
May not test section of stool containing parasites, adult worms may not be actively shedding eggs at that time. Negative test does not mean there is absence of parasites.
What is the term used to describe cancer that spreads to other parts of the body?
Metastatic
What is the term for cancer that is aggressive in nature?
Malignant
