three DEA restrictions on C-II drugs
- no refills allowed (need new Rx)
- no phone Rx (besides SOS, with a written follow-up prescription submitted to the pharmacy w/in 7 days
- faxed Rx are generally permitted, but pharmacist must receive the original, signed written prescription before actual dispensing
Schedule III, IV, and V restrictions:
- phone Rx w/o written follow-up are allowed
- faxed transmission of prescriptions is allowed w/o written follow-up
schedule III, IV restrictions:
may be refilled up to 5 times w/in 6 months of the date the original Rx when authorized
